Singapore Extravaganza!

Morning
 

Feel the pulse and vibrancy of the city by taking a morning ride by MRT train to Raffles Place (Raffles Place MRT Station, EW14/NS26) in the heart of the financial district. Tour the historical Civic District of Singapore, walk along Singapore River, once a bustling and thriving trade port in the 1800s and early 1900s and take in the grandeur of the British colonial architecture of the Asian Civilisation Museum, Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall, The Arts House at the Old Parliament, the Old Supreme Court and, The Fullerton Hotel alongside the modern and contemporary skyscrapers of the Singapore Financial District.

Cross over to One Fullerton to catch a glimpse of Singapore’s skyline with the latest developments surrounding the Marina Bay. While there, be sure to snap a picture of the Merlion, the iconic mythical creature that symbolises Singapore’s history as the ‘lion city’ with its humble beginnings as a fishing village. Stroll along the Esplanade Bridge to The Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay which is Singapore’s largest performing Arts centre that has played host to both local and internationally renowned performances.

 
    For lunch, go to Asia Grand at nearby Odeon Towers (City Hall MRT Station NS25/EW13) to savour their famous Peking Duck and other Chinese dishes. Alternatively, a wide range of food is available at food courts located at Raffles City or Suntec Convention Centre (via underground City Link Mall).
 
Afternoon
 

Work off the calories by going for your shopping spree from City Link Mall to Raffles City. To continue your retail therapy, take a train from City Hall MRT Station (EW13/NS25) to Orchard Road (Orchard MRT Station, NS22) for popular shopping centres: Far East Plaza, Shaw House, Tangs, Wisma Atria, Ngee Ann City, Paragon, The Heeren, followed by The Centrepoint and Plaza Singapura. If at any point, you want to head down to Bugis Street, take MRT from either Orchard MRT Station (NS22) or Somerset MRT Station (NS23) or Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station (NS24/NE6) and alight at Bugis Station (EW12). Bugis Street is one of the Singapore's largest shopping street with over 600 shops stocked with affordable and trendy togs for the young. Alternatively, visit the world renowned Raffles Hotel, awarded one of the 'Top 100 World's Best Hotels' by Travel & Leisure.

 
Evening
 

If you wish to enjoy a view of Orchard Road, hop on SBS Bus no. 7 or 175 from the bus-stop outside Lucky Plaza. Alight at Victoria Street, opposite Bugis Junction. Head towards Bugis Street, (for Bugis Street you may also take the MRT to Bugis MRT Station, E12) and pop by nearby Sim Lim Square for the latest gadgets. Or experience old-world charm at nearby Raffles Hotel. Catch the beautiful sunset of Singapore and its night skyline at the New Asia Bar on the 71st storey of Swissôtel The Stamford (City Hall MRT Station, EW13/NS25).

 
Night
 
 

If all things natural is your cup of tea, visit the award-winning Night Safari – the world’s first night-time wildlife park (Ang Mo Kio MRT Station, NS16; change to SBS Bus No. 138 or Choa Chu Kang MRT Station, NS4; change to bus no. 927). Strike it out on either the walking trail or the tram rides, each bringing a wild adventure amidst lions, hyenas and leopards. If the night is still young and you want to catch your groove, head down to the world-reowned Zouk, Singapore’s iconic dance club. International guest DJs frequent this Club which plays house and latest hits to bring your late night partying to another level. (Orchard MRT Station, NS22; change to Bus No. 16 or 123 from Orchard Boulevard).
